Our concept atMSHC
At MSHC, we offer several ways to enjoy hockey, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player.
External Competition – KNHB League
Our External Competition teams participate in the official KNHB league. Matches are played on Sundays at both regional and national level (for the first team). Teams consist of recreational and performance-oriented players, depending on your level and ambition.
Internal Competition
Our Internal Competition teams play full-pitch (11v11) matches following KNHB rules. The mixed teams (men and women) have one training and one match per week, with games played against other internal teams. All matches take place at our own complex.
Beginners Team
If there are enough sign-ups, we will create a training team especially for people who have never played hockey before. This team focuses on learning the basics in a fun and accessible way. Want to try it out first? Just join one of our open training sessions — no experience needed!

Join the trainer committee and sign up here for a paid position, where you’ll gain valuable experience and help your teammates improve!
Aboutus
MSHC is one of the largest student-run sports association in Maastricht.
We are an association that provides hockey to students by organising an internal competition, participation in the KNHB league, training sessions and special hockey related events.
Additionally, we organise lots of social events focussed on getting to know each other, having fun and being active.
We have a diverse range of skill levels, including performance-oriented teams, recreational teams, and beginner teams.

As a student, I’m always in Maastricht during the week, which meant I couldn’t train at my own home club. But fortunately, MSHC offers the perfect solution for this: a mixed training team open to all levels! Besides the fact that I could keep training, it was also the ideal place to meet new people (both during field hockey and the beer after training 😉 ). Definitely recommend it!
MSHC is a great organization with an extremely friendly atmosphere within the association. You’re able to have fun with your team and enjoy some beers after a game whilst cheering on other teams. But you are also able to attend serious trainings where your game is developed with the help of motivated and excited trainers/coaches. Through open trainings every week you come into contact not only with members from your own team, but with people from the whole association. All in all the perfect place to have fun during your studies whilst also staying fit!
100% recommend MSHC to everyone! The club is very welcoming, has teams for every skill level – yes, also for those that never played before – and perhaps most importantly; MSHC is the gateway into an unforgettable student life here in Maastricht. Even if you can’t join for after training festivities, there are plenty of events to get to know your fellow members better!
